With Sens brass up in the stands for today's scrimmage, Paul MacLean got a great view of today's heated red vs. white game that took centre stage during Sens Fan Fest today. Cole Schneider scored the lone goal of the contest as the red team pulled out the victory over team white.

Here's what Coach MacLean had to say after the scrimmage...

It has been a long time coming for Fredrik Claesson, but last night's game vs. Toronto not only marked his first pre-season game of this campaign, but also his first opportunity to wear the Sens jersey itself. It was a good night for Claesson as he potted his first goal as an NHLer on a rocket from the point, but finished his night as a plus player in roughly 15 minutes of work.

I got some thoughts from Claesson after today's round of practices.

Here's what he had to say...

Sens defenceman Patrick Wiercioch got his pre-season off to a quality start last night against Toronto with a two assist performance, which earned him second star honours. It was also Wiercioch's first attempt playing the right side of the blueline as he lined up alongside Fredrik Claesson for the Sens.

Here's what Patrick had to say about his performance and a handful of other topics...

The Sens came out strong against Toronto in their third pre-season game, but ultimately couldn't break down Drew MacIntyre down the stretch, falling by a 3-2 score to the Maple Leafs at Canadian Tire Centre.

Dave Bolland scored the game winner for Toronto at the midway mark of the third with the Sens wrapping up a penalty kill and, with time winding down and the Sens pressing to tie, a penalty call on Patrick Wiercioch with 1:38 to play quashed the potential comeback. Coach MacLean passed along his thoughts on the loss after the game.

Sens drafts have taken on a local flavour in recent years with players from both the Ottawa area and the Ottawa 67s development pipeline, with a prime example of the latter being Shane Prince. Prince, a 2011 second round pick, has been in the running to make the 2013-14 Sens with his offensive skillset playing a key role. Tonight he plays in Ottawa for the first time since the conclusion of his junior career against the Leafs.

He spoke with the media about hitting the ice again...

The Sens take to the ice for game three of their pre-season campaign tonight when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Canadian Tire Centre. Adding to the excitement of the fact that hockey is basically here, tonight will be the first chance for fans to see Jason Spezza with a 'C' on his jersey, as well as Bobby Ryan in a Sens jersey altogether.

Here are how the teams are projected to line up tonight...
