Mike Hoffman
made his arrival in Ottawa today and spoke after practice about his experiences this season, in addition to what he believes he brings to the table.

For those who were unaware, Hoffman skated on a line with Daniel Alfredsson and Kyle Turris today. If you were a young, offensively talented player looking to shine in your second stint, linemates don't get much better than that.

Video after the jump...

Erik Karlsson
and his wife Therese were at the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa today to lend their support and officially become the BGCO's official "spokescouple."

It has been a long time coming but Craig Anderson has finally begun making appearances at team practices this week and appears to slowly be getting closer to his return to game action this season.

Andy, who went down on February 21 against the New York Rangers with a sprained ankle, has been recuperating for a little over a month's time now. Obviously any need for him to risk a hasty return and play through excessive pain has been eliminated by the stellar performances of Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner in his absence but the return of the Sens' top goaltender will be a welcome one...

With the re-assignment of Dave Dziurzynski earlier today, the Sens made a corresponding move, calling up 23 year old forward Mike Hoffman.

There's something to be said for anyone that can put a positive spin on a scary incident. Last night, when Erik Condra left the game late in the third period after taking a puck to the mouth, a lot of fans feared the worst and visions of Chicago's Duncan Keith losing seven teeth in 2010 entered their minds.

(In fact, if you type 'Duncan Keith' into Google, the third autofill result is 'Duncan Keith teeth' — at least it rhymes.)

The good news is Condra will be okay and actually made his way back to the bench during the shootout. Paul MacLean said last night that Condra was, in fact, available to shoot had the team required his services. All good signs.

The best sign of all, perhaps, came from Condra himself on Twitter after the game when he tweeted:

It certainly wasn't the prettiest win of the season but they count all the same as the Ottawa Senators escaped with a 3-2 shootout win on Monday night.

After a dominating start to the game for the Sens, the Devils captured momentum in the first period and controlled the flow of play for the majority of the game from there. The Sens found a way to keep things together at the back end and, thanks to some fortunate bounces matching solid play in goal from Ben Bishop, got the game to the skills competition where they earned the win.

Coach MacLean borrowed defensive terminology more commonly used in football in saying that the Sens "bent and didn't break" tonight, though you'd be hard-pressed to find a more apt description of how the game played out.

Here's a Twitter rundown of Coach's thoughts on tonight...
