It has been a long road back for Peter Regin as he attempts to put his now lengthy list of shoulder issues behind him. Now, as he is on the verge of equalling the number of games he played all of last season, it appears as though he is getting back in the swing of things and could be ready to turn minutes into production.

Regin, who has missed nearly 100 regular season games since the 2010-11 season, has been forced to ease himself back into his role with the Sens through the first couple weeks of 2013. After finally settling into a more permanent role as a centreman last week, the 26 year old Dane is getting back in the swing of things in the faceoff dot and around the ice.

"I had problems with the timing the first couple of the game. I've been out for a year with a shoulder injury so it's a tough situation but I knew it was going to come," said Regin. "Over the last three games I've been over 50% on faceoffs. It's more about the timing than anything... Even though we practice it, it's different in a game."

It appears that Regin will be lining up down the middle of the ice going forward as Head Coach Paul MacLean made it clear a week ago that he prefers Regin's game as a centreman rather than playing down the wing. With Jason Spezza out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, depth at centre is very much appreciated in what will be a consummate team effort going forward to supplement the team's production offensively.

"It's not like I'm going to take over his role, we're all going to chip in and if you look at the ice time the last couple of games everybody is playing close to 20 minutes, or just under 15, so I think they're going to spread it out," said Regin. "I'm not going to take all of Jason's minutes. That's the way it works. Even though we've lost the last two we've been close in both."

While Regin is still looking for his first points of the 2013 season, his approach to get himself going is very straightforward: Work hard and the rest will follow.

"I think it's such a fast game and sometimes it's just bounces the right way instead of the wrong way, but you obviously have to work hard to get those bounces," said Regin. "I think overall my game can be better and I'm trying to work every day to get it there."
