Spezza speaks to the media

Jason Spezza spoke to the media today. His appearance was the first he has made since he had surgery to repair a herniated disk last Friday in Toronto

While Spezza is still out indefinitely, the signs point to his recovery going well. He said that he experienced immediate relief in his back after the surgery and is feeling good since then.

Despite the positive signs that he is making progress, he won't be able to begin rehab for another couple of weeks. Right now it's all about rest and relaxation for number 19.

The good news for Sens fans on a day like today, of course, is much more subtle than that.
