Stone can\'t get the smile off his face

The youth movement in Ottawa has been in full swing for some time now and the latest participant is ready to join in. With Mark Stone called up and ready to go, the Sens should have another talented offensive option in their lineup soon who will be able to contribute.

It has been an adjustment for Stone who is still adapting to the size and speed of the pro game, but he has his spot in the show for the time being on a team hoping he can bring a missing piece to the puzzle.

"I don't know if I'm the solution, I might be able to try and help. It's probably why they brought me in here. To see if I can try and help and play the way I play."

With 21 points in 38 AHL games, expectations need to be tempered for Stone. While it should be noted that for many players it's actually easier to adapt to the NHL game than the AHL because of the structured nature of play, he won't be making anyone forget about Jason Spezza off the hop.

The good news is he has plenty of other young Sens around to help him bridge the gap.

"It has definitely been easier making the adjustment. I know most of the faces up here and it's an easier adjustment knowing most of the guys."

The adjustment should also be easier given Stone's time around the big club during their playoff series against the New York Rangers. He appeared in two games and recorded a point which no doubt gives him additional confidence going forward.

Needless to say, he's enjoying the ride.

"Obviously last year I wasn't exactly expecting to get a call up and now, to get a taste is good and now I can't get the smile off my face. I'm just excited to play."
