Coach MacLean post-game - 3.21.2013

It was a tough loss for the Sens on Thursday night as they played the Bruins tight over three periods. A couple lapses in play led them astray and gave Boston the 2-1 win.

Obviously you can't make mistakes against a team as solid as the Bruins, but those who watched the game will likely agree that the Sens played well enough to deserve a point.

Coach MacLean attributed the loss to two drops in the level of play, both coinciding with Boston goals. The first, at the end of the second, led to a goal from Paille. The second lapse, at the end of the third period, led to a faceoff in the Sens' zone which the Bruins won and scored on a point shot through a sea of bodies.

Kaspars Daugavins had the goal for the Sens, his first of the season on a wrist shot wired into the top of the net. Sergei Gonchar earned an assist on the goal to take sole possession of the franchise record for consecutive games with an assist at nine.

Here is a Twitter rundown of what Coach MacLean had to say...
