Michalek has green light

Let's try this again, shall we? Milan Michalek is officially healthy enough to make his return to the lineup after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on March 19.

When he is officially plugged back in, it'll be his second return to the lineup this season and, hopefully, a more permanent one after opting not to have the surgery back in February. He played in two games at the mid point of this season after sitting out for roughly a month before the injury returned and surgery was necessary.

Sylvain St-Laurent was the first to get word out of the winger himself earlier this morning.

Michalek reiterated that he was feeling healthy after today's limited morning skate, saying, "I'm ready to play. If coach puts me in, I'll be ready. I feel good."

It has been a frustrating year for Michalek on the scoresheet with 10 points in 15 games, but his shooting percentage (7.1) is well below his career averages meaning he should be poised to bounce back sooner rather than later. Moreover, he is one of the Sens' best possession players and will help the offensive production even if he doesn't pick up the scoring right away.

The Sens take on New Jersey tonight in the sixth game of this seven game trip. In 12 career games against the Devils, Michalek has five goals and six points.

We'll update you if anything becomes finalized.
