Coach MacLean post-game - 4.16.2013
If you paid for a ticket to tonight's game, you were entertained. The pace was end-to-end, there was plenty of physicality, you saw a Jared Cowen return and a vintage Craig Anderson performance. It was fun.
From a hockey perspective, the Sens did leave something to be desired. At times they had lapses reminiscent of Friday's win over New Jersey, at others they looked like a force. Coach MacLean has stressed building to a level of consistency all season long, and, while it's still an ongoing process, the high points of this team certainly seem to indicate that they are a better unit from just a few weeks ago.
Had the power play been clicking as well as the penalty kill did tonight, it's safe to say that the victory would have been by a much larger margin. Alas, it was a one goal game and will give the Sens plenty to work on going forward as they get ready for a hot Washington team on Thursday.
Here's a Twitter rundown of what Coach had to say after the 3-2 win...

Coach added that the team is always confident in their ability to win games, they need to improve their execution.— Ottawa Senators (@NHL_Sens) April 17, 2013
