Conacher on Game 1
Cory Conacher played a lead role in Game 1 and got himself acquainted with the Penguins early and often. While he didn't pot any goals, Conacher was one of the most active Sens on the ice and has set himself up to be an impact on the series going forward.
Here's what he had to say after Game 1...
On mixing it up with the Penguins:
You try and take those guys off their game, just to let them know I'm out there and be in the back of their minds. It would have been nice to put a goal or two in the net and get the win or make it a better game but it's a long series and that's why it's a best of seven. It's just the little things, we have to keep coming back on Friday and keep doing those little things right, being physical and battling in front of the net. They won the net battles at both ends of the ice. If we clear up that a little bit and not be afraid to go into those areas and get in front of their goalie and protect our goalie I think we'll be alright.
On getting some attention from Pens fans:
It's all part of the game, it's playoffs. It's the way I play. I like to be in those dirty areas and get in their heads and fans take notice of that. It's all fun for me and hopefully I can continue to do that but, at the same time, have some scoring chances and not get away from the scoring abilities I can bring to the table. You have to focus on where that line is and not go over the line and stay focused on myself. First, be focused around the net and obviously then being around the net and being a pest around the net.
Expect the Little Train to keep Pittsburgh busy come Game 2.
