With the Sens sitting at 1-0 in this pre-season after last night's 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, the team is preparing for tonight's game in Saskatoon where they will take on the Calgary Flames. Tonight's lineup will have a different look from 24 hours ago as Coach MacLean explained after this morning's skate.

Here's what he had to say...

On tonight's lineup:

Tonight we're going to take the Spezza group out along with Methot and Karlsson and put Turris' group in with Phillips and Ceci and we'll give them the opportunity to run with it tonight. Also Kramer and Hamilton are going to go in and Stone and Kassian are going to come out. We're looking forward to, again, another opportunity to show the way that we play and the structure of our team. I thought last night as the game went on we got more and more into and did different things that we wanted to do and we'll be looking for more of the same tonight.

On Mike Hoffman:

Well Mike's in that — you know along with Stone, Conacher and whatnot — in that little bit of a competition to play with Turris and MacArthur. We think a lot of Mike, he's had some great years in Binghamton, last year he came up and ended up getting hurt I think one or two games into being with us last year. We're looking forward to giving him the opportunity and seeing if he can run with it and seeing if some chemistry develops there.

On the goalie management tonight:

I think we're going to do the same thing with the goalies. I think Lawson's going to play 40 minutes and then Hammond will come in and clean it up again in the third.

On if Jared Cowen will play tonight:

We have too big of an investment in Jared, although he works real hard and is dedicated, I think we're going to give him a couple of practices after watching him this morning. He might need a couple practices to get up to speed.

On bringing him back into the fold:

It was great to see him and we all understand the business of the game we have nowadays and that's fine. I think he'll treat the fellas. I'm sure they'll find some way to come up with some sort of compensation for missing five days of training camp, but that's between them and not us. As a coaching staff any time you get that young player that has that much potential, we're very excited to have him back on the ice and we look forward to giving him a game.

On when Cowen will play:

Well he'll play before the end of the exhibition season for sure and, much like Jason and Erik, those long term injuries, the more games they play the better. I think they'll get more from games than practices. In saying that he needs to get into a few practices before he'll get into a game, but he'll play before the end of the exhibition season for sure.
