Anderson on his first pre-season action

With Robin Lehner, Andrew Hammond and Nathan Lawson splitting the load through two pre-season games thus far, the Sens turn to Craig Anderson tonight for two periods of action and his first work of the pre-season against Toronto. He talked about finally getting going tonight against Toronto in front of the home crowd.

Here's what he had to say...

On if tonight's opponent matters:

It's still the Leafs. I'm sure the fans are still going to be crazy and I'm sure it'll still be half and half so we've got to make sure we come out and work on some things and try to get back into the rhythm of things. Obviously right now just getting back into a rhythm is more important than two points — well there's no points on the line right now — but obviously there's pride and a little bit of a rivalry there so we're definitely excited to play this game and definitely want to set the tone.

On if he wants to repeat last season's performance:

We're always out there trying to prove ourselves and everything you do in this game you earn. Your ice time, you earn, you earn the respect of your peers by going out there and working hard and performing at the level you're expected to. I expect to go out there and give the team an opportunity to win, whether the numbers are the same or they're higher or lower, that's kind of out of my control. What I can control is if I can keep my team in the game. If I can do that, I'll be pretty satisfied.

On tonight's work load:

It's just two periods right now.

On getting back in front of the home crowd:

I'm excited to get back out there and play a more meaningful game than summer hockey in Florida. We're all excited, we've all got things to work on and we all want to go out there and accomplish something. At this point in the pre-season it's just a matter of getting into a rhythm and starting to feel good about your game again.
