Mark Stone on playing in Montreal
As one of those players vying for a spot in the Sens lineup come opening night, Mark Stone will have another audition tonight as he joins the lineup and takes on the Canadiens in Montreal. Stone has played in a pair of games to this point in the pre-season, recording an assist in the process.
Here's what Mark had to say about drawing back into the lineup tonight...
On if he anticipates chippy play tonight:
Obviously with what happened last year in the playoffs there's going to be a little bit of chippyness between the two teams with the rivalry gained over those five games. I think it's still pre-season, guys are still fighting for spots on both teams so it's just going to be a competitive game.
On if he has found his stride:
Yeah, for sure. Obviously I've played quite a few games now with the rookie tournament and just getting into games feels a lot more comfortable for me and just changing from pace to pace has been a bit of an awkward adjustment but I think I'm finally starting to get used to it.
On if he is more comfortable:
Yeah, I mean, getting more comfortable every day — every year for that matter. You know, coming into camps every year you start to know more guys and start to get relationships with different people and it's a lot easier to come into the dressing room.
On what he wants to accomplish tonight:
I just want to play consistent, shift to shift. I don't want to shy away from what I do, just play a consistent game and try and get to their net and be safe in our end.
