Chris Phillips post-practice - 11.14.2013
Sens defenceman Chris Phillips had to sit out of Tuesday's game against the Flyers with an injury and on Thursday he updated his status.
Here's what he had to say...
On today's practice:
I felt pretty good out but we'll see how the body reacts to that. I'll have a better idea tomorrow morning.
On if it's a nagging injury:
Not to the same degree as something progressing, I guess, in the bad direction. That was a big reason for a couple days of staying off the ice to try and get on top of it instead of chasing it every day.
On watching Tuesday's game:
It's tough when you're sitting there. You feel helpless, you want to be out there and contributing and to see that, it's tough to watch.
On being in the press box during a game:
If I was up there, I was down here getting treatment the whole time. I've been there before and it's a different game when you sit up there. You see everything develop and developing before it happens, what plays should be made. It's an easy game from up there, but I think you can tell from how practice went yesterday and a little bit today where we have to be better in our own zone. We had a couple good practices on that and we'll try to carry it into tomorrow.
On bouncing back from Tuesday's game:
Well, we're not trying to — we don't get into the storylines — we're not even thinking about the last one. We look at it where we can be better and then we move on. It's no different if you were to win 5-0, you can't just sit on that and think you're going to step on the ice and it's going to happen again. It's a long season and I think that's one of my rules as a veteran guy. We can't get caught up in the roller coaster of a season. We stay as level headed as we can and really just focus on the next game.
