Coach MacLean post-practice - 11.16.2013

The Sens had a full practice at the Bell Sensplex on Saturday ahead of the team's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. After the skate, Paul MacLean had updates on the lineup and looked ahead to Sunday's game.

Here's what he had to say...

On Bobby Ryan at practice:

I didn't expect not to (have him at practice), after last night we were going to leave it til today and see how he was. Obviously he had some stiffness but he was fine. It was good to see him.

On Erik Condra's status:

It looks like Erik is available, it's just whether or not we feel he's ready to go — he feels he's ready to go, it's whether or not we decide if he's ready to go, but that's good. I think he has been a real good player, soldier for us, he has been real good on the penalty killing for us and it'll be good to get him back. We've got to check again with him and Gerry to make sure that when you're dealing with what he has, you've got to be sure.

On his IR status:

He'll stay on the IR until we decide to play him I believe is what the circumstance would be.

On if Ryan will play:

Again I'm going to wait until tomorrow, he practiced today which is a real good thing. We'll see how he gets through today and when we get here tomorrow we obviously have enough people here, we won't have to recall somebody if he doesn't. We'll just let tomorrow be what it is.

On tomorrow's starting goaltender:

Craig Anderson

On other lineup changes:

I think the group that played yesterday, whether we decide to put Condra in or with Bobby we'll make a decision then.

On Columbus:

Well I think they're always a hard working group and I think that they're a physical team in the pre-scouts and the game we played them was a physical game. Dubinsky is physical, Anisimov is physical, their defence on the back end has some size and physicality. I know Gaborik I read got hurt, so that obviously could be a blow to them, but they're a team from top to bottom that plays pretty consistently and it's going to be another good test.

On preparing for an afternoon game:

We'll try to get the roosters out a little bit earlier in the day and make sure we can be ready for 1:08, but that is a concern.
