Gameday Journal presented by Monarch Homes: Game 27 \u2014 Red Wings vs. Senators

3:35 PM: Get set for puck drop with Gord Wilson and Sens TV...

3:30 PM: Here's what Paul MacLean had to say about today's lineup...

On tonight's lineup:

Robin Lehner is going to play in goal and Patrick Wiercioch will go in and Eric Gryba will come out on the blueline. Cowen will remain out as well as Kassian.

On starting Lehner:

Robin has played well for us over the whole season and I think that it's his turn to play today. He has had success against the Red Wings the last time we played them as Craig did earlier in the season, he had success against them. We just feel that Robin gives us the best chance today.

3:15 PM: Here are tonight's projected lineups for the Sens and Red Wings...

2:00 PM: Today's Gameday Goodie talks with Sens goaltending coach Rick Wamsley about yesterday's coaching clinic, minor hockey and his favourite roadies as a player.

11:45 AM: Yesterday to conclude Movember, Sens TV hit the dressing room to get some final thoughts from the team's participants on the moustachioed month that was.

Take a look...

10:00 AM: Well, the day has finally come.

In what is sure to be an emotional day for all involved, the Ottawa Senators welcome back Daniel Alfredsson, the team's longtime captain, leader in virtually every meaningful statistical category and, beyond that, the player who became a synonym for the franchise itself whose impact I attempted to discuss here prior to his departure.

Needless to say, today should be a good one for fans, players and every interested party keeping an eye on things.

Beyond the narratives tied to today, this an immensely important game in the standings. The Sens are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Canucks on Thursday night and sit nine points back of Detroit in the Atlantic Division. A win at home over the Red Wings would be a good springboard before a two game Florida road swing this week.

The Wings are in the thick of things at the moment with a 13-7-7 record and have been a very strong road team with an 8-3-1 mark away from Joe Louis Arena. With two bad losses at the hands of the Senators fresh in their memory, today's game should be a highly competitive affair.

Paul MacLean will address the media at 3 PM and I'll have plenty of updates on the way including, but not limited to, lineup changes, players' thoughts on tonight's game, Sens TV updates, Instagram goodness and more.

Stay tuned!
