Sens forward Chris Neil has been out of the lineup since coming down with a lower body injury in the team's 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals on December 30 and has returned to taking practice with the team. He updated his status on Tuesday after being a full participant in practice.

Here's what he had to say...

On how he feels:

You feel it every now and then but to go through the skate before practice and then go through practice as well, it was pretty positive.

On how close he is:

I don't know, it all depends on what Mac wants too. I know a couple more days of skating will definitely help it and I think, for me, it's staying active, keeping it moving and not letting it tighten up on me.

On potentially playing against Mike Fisher:

It would be awesome, obviously I don't like missing any games so as soon as I can get back I want to get back out there and get back into the rhythm and right back to where I left off. That's being a physical player, good on the forecheck. For me, that's my game. In practice you're not really doing that so that'll be a test. I'll have to run Jason Smith out there a couple of times.

On the break in the schedule helping it heal:

Obviously it needs time, that's the same with any injury, time and rest. When you've got some days off in between games that definitely gives you time and rest, for me that's important but for me I also have to stay active on it. It's one of those things that if you don't stay on top of it you'll be right back to square one.
