Clarke MacArthur post-practice - 3.12.2014

After missing the last two games with a hand injury, Sens forward Clarke MacArthur returned to practice for the first time on Tuesday morning since sustaining the injury in Calgary. It appears he'll be good to go for the team's game in Montreal on Saturday.

Here's the update on his condition...

On Rich Peverley:

I played with Rich, what a great guy and when something like that happens it's like time stands still. I was just waiting by the TV hoping to hear the best news possible and just thank God the trainers and the guys took care of him. He has a wife and family and it's a scary, scary situation.

On the response reassuring players:

Yeah, I think Lindy Ruff touched on it saying what a great job they did. It's just scary, a guy collapses like that and it's not a training session after that, it's panic mode and they got him out of there as quick as they could. Thankfully everything is good with him and that's the main thing.

On his health:

Getting better, obviously it's no secret I hit the guy's helmet in that little scuffle and my hand kind of blew up on me a little bit. The swelling was to the point where you can't squeeze your hand but, other than that, it's better now. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

On if he'll play Saturday:

Yeah, barring no setbacks that's the plan. I got out there today and it's just going to get better every day here.

On the Nashville loss:

I thought we did things better in the third, we were slow out of the gates again but it was good to battle back and get the one. The two was there up for grabs but we gave them a two on none in overtime, they're going to score on that. It's tough, I thought the momentum switched so much that we were going to get the game. To be down 3-0 and get a point, it's a positive.
