2:45 PM: Marc Methot offered his thoughts on the challenge of the Lightning and Steven Stamkos tonight. Here's what he had to say...

12:50 PM: Sens head coach Paul MacLean offered his thoughts after today's morning skate. Here's what he had to say...

On the lineup:

No, there will be no lineup changes. We're going to go with the same group.

On the effort he's looking for:

Well we want to play better, we want to play the whole 60 minutes. We've played 40, 55, 56, 58 and 52 minutes. We need to put a complete game together and just find a way to flat out win a game. We need to get some traction and in order to do that we need to find a way to win a game. We need to, first of all, make sure we get off to a good start, our mindset starting out has to be we're going to play the whole game.

On the comments on the team's compete level:

I think I've stood here lots of days and said that we need to play harder and longer than the opposition. I've said that lots of times so I think the assessment by Clarke is not wrong.

On Wiercioch's absence from the lineup:

Well we feel it's mostly the opposition and the way they play, we feel that against Tampa Bay we've had success against them when it has been a physical game. We feel that the defence we have without Patrick is more physical.

On other teams finding a high compete level:

I guess it's the character of the players on your team and the way their approach to the game is. We've had that in the past, does adversity bring it out in you? I'm not sure. For us the work ethic and the sticktoitiveness that we've had in the past has somehow dissipated. How we let that go, we're not sure. We need to find a way to get that back and I think it starts in practice.

12:00 PM: The Ottawa Senators return to action tonight when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Sens fell by an 8-4 score on Tuesday night in their game against the New York Rangers. Mike Hoffman, Mika Zibanejad, Milan Michalek and Bobby Ryan all scored for the Sens while Robin Lehner made 23 saves. Backup goaltender Nathan Lawson was injured in the loss; Andrew Hammond has since been recalled from Binghamton.

The Lightning enter tonight's game as the second place team in the Atlantic Division with a 38-24-7 record in 69 games for a total of 83 points. In 36 road games this season, they have amassed a record of 18-16-2 and are coming off of a 5-3 win in Toronto on Wednesday night.

In three games this season the Sens are 1-1-1 against Tampa Bay.

The Sens had their morning skate at 10:15 AM at Canadian Tire Centre and I'll have plenty of updates to follow including, but not limited to, lineup changes, players' thoughts, Sens TV videos, Instagram goodness and more.

Stay tuned!
