Sens Prospect Update - 04.22.2014

Let's take a brief moment to pan around the world of hockey and see how Senators prospects and affiliates are faring in their playoff quests.

Ben Harpur - Harpur was the only Sens prospect in action last night, recording a minor penalty and finishing a plus-1 on the evening in a 7-1 win for his Guelph Storm over the Erie Otters. With the victory, the Storm increase their series lead to a 3-0 margin. In 13 playoff games to this point, Harpur has a goal and four points to go with his plus-16 rating, the highest of all Storm defencemen.

Curtis Lazar - Lazar's Oil Kings return to action on Tuesday night when the puck drops on game three between Edmonton and the Medicine Hat Tigers. The Oil Kings hold a 2-0 advantage to this point in the series. Lazar was named the WHL's Player of the Week on Monday, recording three goals and an assist in the first two games of the series. He has six goals and 15 points through 11 playoff games to this point in the post-season for Edmonton.

Binghamton Senators - The Binghamton Senators clinched the third seed in the AHL's Eastern Conference after capturing the East Division title. They'll face Pittsburgh's affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs. The Penguins finished second in the East Division, four points back of the B-Sens. The B-Sens won five of the eight encounters between the two teams this season and will look to avenge last season's first round elimination which came at the hands of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Game one is set for Friday, April 25 in Binghamton.
