Sens TV with Cody Ceci
Sens TV had the opportunity to sit down with a handful of Senators players before they went their separate ways at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season to reflect on the year that was, look ahead to the future and get a sense of what's ahead for the guys.
Next up in this series is Cody Ceci. Ceci, Ottawa's 2012 first round pick, was recalled by the Senators to make his NHL debut on December 12 against the Buffalo Sabres. Just four days later in his third NHL game, he notched his first NHL goal — an overtime winner — against the St. Louis Blues and former Senators goaltender. At season's end, had played 49 NHL games and recorded three goals and nine points at 20 years old despite not being in the NHL conversation in training camp.
Ceci was a positive contributor for the Sens in all three zones during his rookie campaign with 51 per cent of shot attempts coming in favour of the Senators while he was on the ice. Not only that, but he earned a regular shift on the team's penalty kill and power play — playing over 25 per cent of the Sens' minutes both shorthanded and with the man advantage.
To recap his rookie season with the Sens, here's Cody Ceci one-on-one with Sens TV.
