With one pre-season game under his belt thus far, Mika Zibanejad will be looking to build on a strong pre-season debut tonight when he gets the call to face the Montreal Canadiens. Mika will be centering the third line between Colin Greening and Erik Condra, though don't be surprised if he moves around a bit with the team experimenting with him on the wing as part of the top six.
Here's what Mika had to say about tonight's game...
On getting back in the lineup:
It's my second game tonight and I felt great against Toronto, especially at the beginning of the game. I'm really happy to be back.
On having his legs against Toronto:
Yeah, I felt good. Obviously when you get that first game you're anxious to play and have lots of energy. I think I came out with it in the first period pretty good and just kept working from there. I'm really anxious from there too.
On playing with Greening and Condra:
We played great last season, we played great together, I think we compensate for each other pretty good and we find each other pretty good. All of us work hard and we talk a lot too to make sure we know what's going on out there. Hopefully we can get something going tonight.
On renewing the rivalry with Montreal:
Obviously it doesn't matter if it's pre-season or regular season or playoffs, it's always going to be that heat between us. Toronto as well, I guess. I don't know, I guess it won't be as intense as it was in the playoffs but it will be a good game for sure.
