OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today that the club has re-signed forward Erik Condra to a two-year contract.
Condra was one of six players to appear in each of Ottawa’s 48 games in 2012-13, registering 12 points (four goals, eight assists), a plus-three rating and a career-high 34 penatly minutes while leading team forwards in blocked shots (32) for the second consecutive campaign. He ranked fourth among Senators with seven post-season points (one goal, six assists) while skating in all 10 of the club’s playoff games.
A native of Trenton, Mich., Condra was recalled by the Senators (and to the NHL for the first time) from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, on 2/15/11. Since that time, he has played in all but one of Ottawa’s regular-season contests, recording 48 points (18 goals, 30 assists) and 76 penalty minutes over 155 games.
Upon reassignment to Binghamton at the end of Ottawa’s 2010-11 regular season, Condra helped the B-Sens to the Calder Cup title, recording five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 23 post-season contests.
Condra was Ottawa’s seventh-round selection (211th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft.
