Senators rookies beat Maple Leafs 4-2
Kitchener, Ont. - The Senators rookies scored four times in the first period and then held on to a second period two-goal lead to defeat the Maple Leafs 4-2. The Senators evened their record at a win and a loss.

Ottawa got first period scoring from St. Michael’s Majors grad Kaspars Daugavins on the powerplay and even strength goals from Russian prospects Ilja Zubov, who scored twice, and Alexander Nikulin.

For Toronto, Tyler Doig and Mike Gauthier beat Sens goalie Brian Elliott, who stopped 19 shots.

In the second game, the Penguins beat the Panthers 6-3.

The Senators face off against the Penguins tomorrow at 2 p.m., while the Panthers meet the Maple Leafs in round-robin action.
