Sens Foundation aids Gatineau charities
11 organizations share in $128,000 worth of financial assistance
A dozen organizations shared in a combined $128,000 presented by the Sens Foundation before Wednesday night’s Senators-Philadelphia Flyers pre-season game at Scotiabank Place.
Senators and Scotiabank Place COO Cyril Leeder, also a foundation board member, made the cheque presentation during an event co-hosted by the Senators and the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce at The Ledge restaurant.
The Sens Foundation, through its financial granting process, distributed funds to 10 charities tonight. An 11th charity, the Fondation du CSSS de Gatineau, received $50,000 raised during the Bell Sens Soiree in February.
Other beneficiares of the Sens Foundation’s contributions, and the amount presented, include: Centre de formation en enterprise et récupération de l’Outaouais, $15,000; Centre Espoir de Gatineau, $10,000; La maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie, $10,000; Les Grands Frères et Grandes Soeurs de l’Outaouais, $10,000; Les petits déjeuners de la Soupière de l’Amitié, $10,000; Académie des retraités de l’Outaouais, $5,000; Espace Outaouais, $5,000; La Mie de l’entraide, $5,000; Saga Jeunesse, $5,000, and One Parents Families Association of Canada, $3,000.
