Game on Monday, Jan. 2 changed to accommodate Sugar Bowl

OTTAWA - The Atlanta Thrashers announced today that their home game at Philips Arena against the Ottawa Senators on Monday, Jan. 2, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., has been changed to a 3 p.m. (ET) start time.

With the Sugar Bowl collegiate football game now scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2, at 8:30 p.m. at Atlanta's Georgia Dome, the Thrashers requested the change in start time to better accommodate their fans, as well as all Atlanta sports fans.

The Sugar Bowl game, featuring the University of Georgia and West Virginia University, was moved to the Georgia Dome after the Louisiana Superdome was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
