Bulletin: Senators return Steve Martins to Binghamton (AHL)
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today reassigned centre Steve Martins to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
In his second emergency call-up on Feb. 6, the 33-year-old played one game and recorded one assist in the Senators' 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Martins had three shots, was +1 in plus-minus ratings and had 11:06 minutes ice time. In four games with Ottawa this season, Martins recorded 2 points (1-1), is a +2 in plus-minus ratings and averaged 7:50 time-on-ice per game.
With the B-Sens, the Gatineau, Que., native played 44 games, leads the team with 31 assists and ranks second in points with 46 and goals with 15. This was Martin's second recall of the season after being signed as free agent on August 18, 2005.
The Binghamton Senators are sixth in the East Division with 18 wins, 25 losses, and two overtime and shootout losses for 40 points. The B-Sens' next game is Wednesday, Feb. 8, at home against the Portland Pirates.
