Trade Centre Limited and Power Promotional Concepts announce two NHL pre-season games for September 2006
HALIFAX - Trade Centre Limited and Power Promotional Concepts released details today regarding two NHL pre-season games coming to Halifax Metro Centre in fall 2006.
New York Islanders will take on Boston Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 23, while Ottawa Senators go head-to-head with Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Sept. 24.
"This is further proof of Halifax's reputation as a great events city," said Scott Ferguson, executive vice-president of Trade Centre Limited. "It's obvious from our lineup of great events - 2006 Juno Awards being the latest - that Halifax can deliver the community support and fan base that promoters and organizers need for success."
Roy Mlakar, president and chief executive officer of the Ottawa Senators and Scotiabank Place said: "The Senators have always had a great response from our fans in Halifax. As well, the great hospitality and enthusiasm shown by our partners at the Halifax Metro Centre and the hockey community make bringing one of our key training camp components - a pre-season game - to Nova Scotia a great experience.
"We have benefited from our game television broadcasts on Rogers Sportsnet over the past few years with a growing presence in Atlantic Canada, and this game is an opportunity for our team to get back into a community that has been very supportive of the Senators," added Mlakar.
"The Toronto Maple Leafs welcome the opportunity to meet one of our perennial rivals at the Halifax Metro Centre," said John Ferguson, vice-president and general manager of the Maple Leafs. "The terrific hockey fans of Halifax and Atlantic Canada will be able to experience one of the NHL's premier rivalries first-hand. The game will go a long way in our preparations for the opening of our regular season."
Ticket packages are available for purchase Friday, April 7, at 9 a.m. only through www.ticketatlantic.com, Charge by Phone Line 902-451-1221 and Ticket Atlantic Box Office at Halifax Metro Centre.
