Bulletin: Senators offer 5 games on pay-per-view
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today the club will be offering pay-per-view games this season for the first time in its history.
For only $10.95 a game, or $49.95 for the five-game package, Senators fans can watch their team face the Red Wings in Detroit on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m.; the Rangers in New York City on Tuesday, March 13, at 7 p.m.; the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. and the New Jersey Devils in East Rutherford, N.J., on Tuesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m.
The lone home game on this season's pay-per-view offer will feature the Senators' fourth and final regular-season home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m.
"This pay-per-view opportunity offers our fans the most Senators games televised in franchise history (70 total for 2006-07)," said Roy Mlakar, Senators and Scotiabank Place president and CEO. "We're looking forward to this new opportunity for our club, and we're confident we've put together an attractive line-up of opponents."
"Produced by the Senators, and featuring the familiar faces and voices of Dean Brown and Gord Wilson, fans can also expect new talent, additional features and extra content not found in the local and regional broadcasts," said Jim Steel, Senators vice-president of broadcasting and executive producer. "Our pay-per-view games will have no advertising and, therefore, significantly more time to tell the story to our viewers."
The pay-per-view package will be available through approved direct-to-home satellite and cable providers, including Bell ExpressVu and Rogers Cable, throughout eastern Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. Full details will be announced in the coming weeks.
