OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators' Fan Fest presented by the Ottawa Citizen, TEAM 1200 and A-Channel returns to Scotiabank Place on Sunday, September 17, to launch the club's 15th season in the NHL. The event will feature the Senators annual Red and White Intra-Squad Game, the GM Sens Street Tour, the Senators equipment sale and free handouts and entertainment throughout Scotiabank Place.
Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, will open the doors to Scotiabank Place at 9 a.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to Scotiabank Place. The Ottawa Food Bank will be on hand to accept receiving food and donations to help stock its cupboards for the upcoming fall season. Fans will then get the chance to watch Senators players take to the ice for the annual Red and White Intra-Squad Game at 10 a.m.
Fan Fest begins outdoors on the Gate 1 plaza and throughout the concourse level with a number of interactive components from the GM Sens Street Tour. In addition, members of the Ottawa Police's K-9 unit will be on-hand to greet fans while entertainers such as jugglers, balloonists and face painters will join the festive atmosphere.
The first 2,500 kids (14 and under) in attendance will receive a Sens Army wristband and paper helmet, while random draws for Senators memorabilia will be held throughout the intra-squad game.
Also, starting at 9 a.m., Sensations will have a special setup to sell new and used Senators equipment in the Gate #1 plaza tent. The sale will include items such as skates, gloves, sticks, shafts, padding and more.
Free parking is available all day at Scotiabank Place. Festivities from Fan Fest will wrap-up at approximately 1 p.m.
