Bulletin: Phillips named alternate captain

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that defenceman Chris Phillips was named an alternate captain. The 28-year-old joins captain Daniel Alfredsson and alternate captain Wade Redden.

Phillips, who wore the A 17 times during the 2005-06 season, begins his ninth season with the Senators and the NHL. In 536 regular-season games, the Calgary native has recorded 32 goals, 106 assists and 376 penalty minutes. Phillips has also contributed six goals and seven assists in 67 playoff games.
