The Sens Army continues to show strong support for the Ottawa Senators. A winning streak in the month of January has seen the Senators surge towards the top of the Eastern Conference standings, and the crowds at Scotiabank Place have been the team's backbone in its quest for victory.

"The fans recognize the effort you put forth, and when you give an effort, the crowds get into it," says Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson. "We're doing that, and the fans are helping us out even more."

Despite losing the services of veteran centres Jason Spezza, Mike Fisher and Antoine Vermette, the Senators have posted a 7-1-1 record in their last nine games. Playing at home has helped the team battle through these adverse times.

"You're here with your own gym  -- we have 20 exercise bikes here --  it's a lot easier," says Alfredsson. "I like playing at home, being in front of our fans is a big plus."

This season the Senators are attracting an average crowd of 19,088 fans a game. That includes 14 of 22 home games that have sold out.

With a total of 10 home games at Scotiabank Place in January, fans have been given plenty of opportunity to catch their team in action. The Senators have made the experience that much more enjoyable by playing their best hockey of the season, and contests and promotions have added to the excitement on the ice. Tickets continue to go fast for the five remaining home games this month, so act fast if you want to get in on the action.

Tickets for games from Feb. 3, which is against the Toronto Maple Leafs, to the end of the regular-season on April 5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, go on sale at 10 a.m. this Saturday.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.CapitalTickets.ca, by calling 599-FANS or 1-877-788-FANS; in person at all Ottawa-Gatineau area Sports Experts locations or the Scotiabank Place box office. For group ticket information, please call 613-599-0210.
