While Senators forward Dany Heatley will display his talents during the NHL's Dodge/Nitro SuperSkills competition tonight during all-star festivities in Dallas, his teammates -- Patrick Eaves and Andrej Meszaros -- will represent the Eastern Conference in the YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck.

Heatley hopes he will be selected to participate in a certain event during tonight's skills competition.

"I enjoy the breakaways (shootout) at the end. It would be nice to get picked for that. It's a fun weekend to relax, be around the guys and for the stars to showcase their talents."

This is Heatley's second all-star game experience. Then a member of the Atlanta Thrashers, Heatley was named the 2003 NHL All-Star Game MVP after a four-goal performance.

Heatley was traded to Ottawa for Marian Hossa and Greg de Vries on Aug. 23, 2005. Ironically, Heatley and Hossa will sit beside each other in the Eastern Conference dressing room tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight's skills competition event will be staged in this order: puck-control relay, fastest skater, Round 1- shootout, hardest shot, Round 2- shootout, accuracy shooting, in the zone, Round 3- shootout and one-on-one shootout. Click here for more information on each event.

Young Sens on display
Meszaros and Eaves will try to help lead the Eastern Conference to victory in the fourth
edition of the YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck tonight.

Meszaros is looking forward to the experience.

"It's an honour to be able to go, and I think this will be lots of fun. It's nice to be able to meet all the new guys and maybe one day we'll all make the main game."

Senators players have had success at the game in the past.

As a member of the Edmonton Oilers, Mike Comrie scored three goals and an assist for Team Fox during a 13-7 loss to Team Melrose in 2002. Mike Fisher and Karel Rachunek represented the Senators in that game, while Heatley represented the Thrashers. Comrie's output left him with several YoungStars Game records. They include: tied for first with most points in one period with three; fastest goal from the start of the game, 1:37; and fastest two goals from the start of the game and start of a period, 4:46.

As the lone Senators representative in 2003, defenceman Anton Volchenkov scored once in the East's 8-3 win over the Western Conference.

The Senators had no players participate in the 2004 game, which the West won 7-3.
