Bulletin: Senators Recall Kelly Guard from AHL's Binghamton Senators
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled goaltender Kelly Guard from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, to replace Ray Emery for the club's game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Emery will be serving his third and three-game suspension.
This is the fourth call-up of the season for Guard. The Prince Albert, Sask., native has served as the Senators' back-up goaltender in six games, most recently in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.
In 31 games played this season in the AHL, Guard has eight wins, 16 regulation time losses and three shootout losses. The 23-year-old also has a 0.894 save percentage and 3.38 goals-against average.
Binghamton's next game is Wednesday, Feb. 21, when they face the Manchester Monarchs. The Senators are in seventh place in the AHL's East Division with 16 wins, 29 losses, two overtime losses and five shootout losses for 39 points.
