Bulletin: Senators To Host \'Red Rally\' At Scotiabank Place

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the Red Zone at Scotiabank Place will open on Saturday, May 12, at 5 p.m. for all fans wanting to watch the Ottawa Senators take on the Buffalo Sabres at 8 p.m. in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final. Food and drinks will be available, while the band The Durtz will perform to keep Sens fans entertained. There will be street hockey available, a kids interactive area for the younger Sens fans, face painting, a life-size team photo, an inflatable Stanley Cup and the Team 1200 will broadcast live on location. Sensations, the team's official store, will have a one-day 20 per cent off sale on Senators merchandise, starting at 10 a.m. and running throughout the game. Marshy's and Frank Finnigan's will also be open during the event.

The evening will start with a convoy of cars traveling from Lynx Stadium to the Red Zone at Scotiabank Place. Fans who are unable to participate in the convoy can still come to the Red Zone to take part in the festivities.

Sens fans participating in the convoy are asked to meet at Lynx Stadium by 4 p.m. and to decorate their cars, fly car flags and dress up in Senators gear. The top three decorated cars will win one of three pairs of tickets to the Senators' first home game of the third round of the 2007 playoffs on Monday, May 14. Convoy participants will also receive a free Go Sens Go car decal and a coupon for a sandwich item and a soft drink in the Red Zone on May 12. Stuntman Stu and Steve Warne from the Team 1200's Three Guys On The Radio morning show will lead the convoy.

Hosts Stuntman Stu, Steve Warne and Bill Welychka of A-Channel will award the prizing* and will have an extra three pairs of tickets to Game 1 of the third round to award to the fans in the Red Zone who are the best-dressed in red.

The Red Zone will be open until the end of the game. Visit www.ottawasenators.com for more details.

OC Transpo will be providing Connection 404 service from the Eagleson Park and Ride lot and Terry Fox station to Scotiabank Place from 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at 30-minute intervals. Busses will return 10 minutes after the hockey game is completed.

*Prizing and participants will be determined by the judges at their sole discretion. The decisions of the judges shall be final and binding, and may not be challenged in any way. The rain date for the Red Rally is Monday, May 14, meeting at Lynx Stadium at 10:30 a.m..
