Bulletin: Senators Agree To Terms With Three Prospects

OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators general manager John Muckler today announced the club has agreed to terms on contracts with three prospects: left-winger Kaspar Daugavins, defenceman Mattias Karlsson and centre Alexander Nikulin.

Daugavins, Ottawa's third-round selection (91st overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, enjoyed a successful season with the St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 18 goals and adding 42 assists for 60 points in 61 games. Following the season, the 19-year-old native of Riga, Latvia, joined the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League, where he scored two goals and added nine penalty minutes in 11 games.

Karlsson, Ottawa's fourth-round selection (135th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, tied for the team lead in scoring with 32 points (11 goals) with Bofors IK of the Swedish Ice Hockey League. Born in Stora, Sweden, the 22-year-old Karlsson added 34 penalty minutes in 44 games.

Nikulin, Ottawa's fourth-round selection (122nd overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, scored five goals and added 11 assists for 16 points for CSKA Moscow of the Russian League. The 21-year-old native of Moscow added nine penalty minutes in 22 games.
