OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today assigned left-winger Nick Foligno to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Foligno was recalled by the Senators for the second time this season on Nov. 27. After starting the season with the Senators and earning two goals and six penalty minutes over his first 14 career NHL games, Foligno was assigned to Binghamton on Nov. 14. After recording an additional three goals, two assists and six penalty minutes in the 17 games since his second recall to Ottawa, he now has five goals and two assists in 31 career NHL games.

Foligno has five assists and six penalty minutes in six games with Binghamton this season. He was Ottawa’s first-round pick, 28th overall, in the 2006 NHL entry draft.

The B-Sens occupy fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with 35 points from 15 wins, 15 losses, three overtime losses and two shootout losses. The club’s next game is Friday, Jan. 4, when they visit the Pirates in Portland, Maine.
