Bulletin: Metro joins Ottawa Senators as club\'s official grocery retailer
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced it has added Metro, a leading Ontario grocery chain, to its corporate sponsorship lineup through a five-year agreement, beginning with the 2009-10 National Hockey League season.

The Senators and Metro will première their new partnership with the introduction of the Metro Family 4 Pack during the two Thanksgiving weekend games, featuring the Atlanta Thrashers at Scotiabank Place on Saturday, Oct. 10, and the Stanley Cup-champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, Oct. 12.

The Metro Family 4 Pack is available for $99 and provides four tickets, four drinks and four hotdogs. The following 10 games have been designated Metro Family 4 Pack games: Saturday, Oct. 10, vs. Atlanta; Saturday, Oct. 24, vs. Boston; Saturday, Nov. 7, vs. New Jersey; Saturday, Nov. 21, vs. Buffalo; Saturday, Dec. 12, vs. Carolina; Saturday, Dec. 19, vs. Minnesota; Saturday, Jan. 9, vs. Florida; Thursday, Feb. 11, vs. Washington; Saturday, March 27, vs. Florida; and, Thursday, April 1, vs. Carolina.

“We are thrilled to be the exclusive partner and official grocery retailer for the Ottawa Senators,” said Marc Giroux, national vice-president of marketing for Metro Inc. “Metro is about bringing people together for food at its best and the Senators bring hockey fans together for hockey at its best, so there is great synergy here.”

“Metro’s ticket package now allows more fans the opportunity to enjoy Senators, games and the package includes food and beverage,” said Senators president Cyril Leeder. “And with more fans in the stands supporting our team, we know our players also appreciate Metro’s assistance in filling the seats at Scotiabank Place and creating an exciting atmosphere.”
