Donovan expects 'quick recovery'
Senators forward to miss at least 6-8 weeks with knee injury

Shean Donovan remains optimistic he'll be ready sooner rather than later to bring his energetic brand of hockey to the Ottawa Senators lineup again.
Donovan suffered a right knee injury during Thursday's 6-2 victory over the Penguins at Scotiabank Place, courtesy of a knee-on-knee hit by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke. Senators head coach Cory Clouston confirmed earlier today than Donovan suffered medial collateral ligament (MCL) damage in the knee that will keep him out a minimum of six to eight weeks.
"It's be rehab (of the MCL) for six to eight weeks, then we'll know how strong the ACL is after that."
For his part, Donovan sounded far less gloomy about his situation. The 34-year-old veteran said he hopes to miss "as little (time) as possible."
"I've had different injuries in my career," he said. "It's never good to get hurt (but) we've got good trainers and doctors here, so it'll be a quick recovery. It's just a matter of making sure the MCL heals, then you put a brace on it and go out and play.
"Lots of guys have done it. I think I've hurt it before, so it's not that big a deal."
With Donovan sidelined and Alex Kovalev home in Russia dealing with a family emergency, Peter Regin and Ryan Shannon draw back into the lineup tonight. Pascal Leclaire (8-5-1) makes his seventh straight start in goal.
