OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today their Minor Hockey Week tribute to players, coaches, officials and minor hockey volunteers from Oct. 25 to Oct. 30.

Created in partnership with Scotiabank and the two minor-hockey-governing bodies in the National Capital Region — the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODMHA) and Hockey Outaouais — Minor Hockey Week will feature programs and initiatives to highlight teams, associations, coaches, players and volunteers in a week-long salute to the region’s minor hockey communities.

Senators Clinics presented by Sport Chek – Forwards/Defencemen
Monday, Oct. 25, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for forwards and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for defencemen
Scotiabank Place

The Senators and Sport Chek will host the first two (of three total) position-specific clinics at Scotiabank Place on Monday. The clinics will feature Senators alumni Laurie Boschman (who will conduct the forwards’ clinic from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) and Jason York (who will conduct the defencemen clinic from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) for atom and peewee aged players.

Friday, Oct. 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Senators and Sport Chek will host their third position-specific clinic for atom and peewee goaltenders, which will feature the Senators’ goaltending coach, Rick Wamsley.

8th Annual Tim Hortons Coaches Clinic
Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Senators conclude Minor Hockey Week presented by Scotiabank with the eighth annual Tim Hortons Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Scotiabank Place. Held free of charge for all classifications of coaches, the clinic will feature a introductory welcome by Senators president Cyril Leeder (at 8:05 a.m.), followed by individual sessions relating to skating techniques, gap control and offensive skills. Wamsley will also make a guest appearance to share some of his experience and knowledge about hockey’s last line of defence.

Special night home games and Minor Hockey Players in the Lineup presented by Scotiabank

Each Senators home game at Scotiabank Place during Minor Hockey Week (Oct. 26 vs. Phoenix, Oct. 28 vs. Florida and Oct. 30 vs. Boston) will feature Scotiabank Skaters, who will lead the Senators on to the ice. Minor hockey players from the ODMHA and Hockey Outaouais will line up with the home team for the national anthems, also courtesy of Scotiabank. The Senators and NHL Referee Association will welcome four guest officials, who will meet with NHL officials prior to the game, and take to the ice for the national anthems. Each game will also feature a minor hockey intermission, and the ODMHA and Hockey Outaouais’s volunteer of the year will be recognized during the Oct. 28 game.
