OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today plans for their second annual Faceoff Fieldtrip, presented by Scotiabank, which welcomes more than 200 classes and 6,100 students and teachers to Scotiabank Place on Monday, Nov. 8, to learn about the science of hockey and watch the Senators practice. Classes registered for this event via the Sens@School education program, in partnership with the Sens Foundation, and were later invited to attend the Faceoff Fieldtrip free of charge.
Beginning at 10 a.m., team employees and special guests from the Canada Science and Technology Museum will hold discussions and demonstrations on a variety of hockey-related subjects, including the elements of science on display during an NHL hockey game. The Senators will then take to the ice for practice.
Hosted by Gord Wilson from Team 1200 Radio and SensTV, along with Senators in-stand hostess Kimberly G., the Faceoff Fieldtrip officially launches the club’s Sens@School education program for this season. To obtain access to a variety of activities that will enhance their classes’ educational experience, teachers can register for this program by visiting the Community section of the Senators website, www.ottawasenators.com.
