Bulletin: Senators re-assign Brodeur and O\u2019Brien to Binghamton (AHL)
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned goaltender Mike Brodeur and forward Jim O’Brien to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Brodeur, 27, made his season debut in Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Toronto, stopping 12 of the 14 shots he faced after replacing starter Brian Elliott. Prior to this, he served as back-up to Elliott in Ottawa’s previous five games. Brodeur has appeared in two games with the B-Sens this season, going 1-1-0 with a 3.65 goals-against-average.

O’Brien, 21, was recalled to Ottawa on Dec. 31 and made his NHL debut on Friday in the Senators’ 4-3 overtime loss to Columbus. In two NHL games he has recorded no points or penalty minutes. O’Brien has recorded 12 goals, 13 assists, 27 penalty minutes and is a +10 in 33 games with the B-Sens this season.

The B-Sens, in fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with a 16-15-2-2 record and 36 points, next see action this afternoon when they visit the Charlotte Checkers.
