Bulletin: Senators re-assign forward Colin Greening to Binghamton
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned forward Colin Greening to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Greening was recalled to the National Hockey League for the first time on an emergency basis to replace Jarkko Ruutu on Jan. 31.

Greening made his NHL debut last night in Ottawa’s 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The 24-year-old has recorded 12 goals, 20 assists and 34 penalty minutes and is a +10 in 48 games during his first professional season with the B-Sens.

A native of St. John’s, N.L., Greening played four seasons with the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Cornell University Big Red. The 6-2, 211-pound centre appeared in each of the school’s 137 games, recording 118 points by scoring 55 goals and adding 63 assists. Following his senior year, Greening was selected the ECAC hockey-student athlete of the year and was recognized with the Lowe’s Senior CLASS award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA men’s division I hockey. Greening was Ottawa’s seventh-round pick (204th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The B-Sens, in fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with a 24-20-2-3 record, next see action on Friday when they vist the Norfolk Admirals at 7:30 p.m.
