Bulletin: Senators re-assign Butler, Lehner and O’Brien to Binghamton

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned goaltender Robin Lehner and forwards Bobby Butler and Jim O’Brien to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. The three will join the B-Sens today when they travel to Glens Falls, N.Y. to face the Adirondack Phantoms.

Lehner, 19, was recalled for a fourth time this season on Jan. 31. He played in four of six games during this period, starting in three. In seven National Hockey League games this season, Lehner has a win and three losses and has posted a 3.40 goals-against-average. He has a record of 6-6-2-2 with a 2.65 goals-against-average and .913 save percentage in 16 games with the B-Sens this season.

Butler, 24, returns to the B-Sens after recording his first NHL goal and points in Ottawa’s 5-3 win over the Oilers in Edmonton on Saturday. He opened the scoring with a goal, then added an assist on Ottawa’s third goal by Milan Michalek. In 10 NHL games in 2010-11, over the course of four call-ups, Butler has a goal, an assist and two penalty minutes. He has also scored 22 goals while recording 11 assists and 35 penalty minutes in 46 games with Binghamton this season.

O’Brien, 21, was recently recalled to Ottawa on Feb. 9, playing in Saturday’s victory over the Oilers. In four NHL games he has two penalty minutes. O’Brien has scored 13 goals while adding 21 assists and 55 penalty minutes in 48 games with the B-Sens this season.

The B-Sens are in fifth place in the AHL’s East Division with a 27-20-3-3 record and 60 points.
