Bulletin: The Senators In Your Community From Jan. 13 to Jan. 19

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Jan. 13, to Thursday, Jan. 19.

Kyle Turris visits Sport Chek

Senators forward Kyle Turris, visits the Kanata Sport Chek location (801 Kanata Ave., Kanata) to meet fans and sign autographs on Sunday, Jan. 15, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Senators Alumni Road Game Parties

Throughout the 2011-12 regular season, the Senators will be holding Road Game Parties at Boston Pizza restaurants throughout the Ottawa area. A Senators alumni member will be on hand from the start of the game through the first intermission, mingling with fans and signing autographs at each event. The next party is set for Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m., when the Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Senators Alumni member Chris Valentine will be at Boston Pizza at 1055 St. Laurent Blvd. in Ottawa. Join Senators Alumni member, Fred Barrett, at 1681 Greenbank Rd. in Barrhaven on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 10:30 p.m., when the Senators visit the San Jose Sharks.

Spartacat appearances

Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will skate with Timbit Minor Hockey Players at the Spencerville Arena (22 Sloan St., Spencerville, Ont.) between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. The following day, Sparty will be in the stands to cheer on the NHL Alumni as they battle CKOI Outaouais 104,7 on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Baribeau’s Arena (231 Magnus Rue E.,  Gatineau). Tickets for the matchup are available for only $4 per person, or $10 per family. Spartacat will join the fun as an official as he steps in as a guest referee at the Hopes and Heroes floor hockey game on Jan. 19. Puck-drop is scheduled for noon at Alumni Gymnasium of The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre at the General campus (505 Smyth Rd, Ottawa).
