OTTAWA - With their 5-1 victory earlier today over the New York Islanders, the Ottawa Senators have secured an Eastern Conference berth in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs. Post-seson tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, April 7, at 10 a.m.

Playoff tickets will be available at www.capitaltickets.ca, 613-599-FANS (3267), 1-877-788-FANS (3267); The Sens Store locations at Carlingwood Mall and Place d’Orléans, any Ottawa Sports Experts location, Les Galeries de Hull, and the Scotiabank Place box office.

Sunday’s victory ensures that the Senators will return to the NHL’s post-season for the 13th time in the past 15 seasons. The NHL will confirm the team’s opponent and unveil the playoff schedule following the completion of all of Saturday’s league games, with the Senators likely to begin post-season play on either Wednesday, April 11, or Thursday, April 12.

While post-season pricing is still to be determined, Senators season-seat owners who have renewed their seats for 2012-13 (in addition to any new season-seat purchasers) will be eligible to secure playoff tickets at the same cost as their regular-season seats — a savings which could amount to as much as a 60 per cent discount over the regular price.

Season-seat packages for the 2012-13 campaign are currently on sale and will provide priority access for any additional 2012 playoff rounds. Half-season seat packages for the 2012-13 campaign are available for as low as $28 per seat per month (300 level) and as low as $130 per seat per month for 100-level seating .

The Senators return home to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday at Scotiabank Place at 7:30 p.m. The Boston Bruins will visit the capital on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before Ottawa concludes its regular-season schedule on Saturday at 3 p.m. in New Jersey against the Devils. Fewer than 850 tickets remain for Tuesday’s contest, while fewer than 150 remain for Thursday’s game. Tickets are available at all outlets referenced above.
