Bulletin: Senators re-sign forward Pat Cannone to a two-year contract
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has re-signed forward Pat Cannone to a two-year, two-way contract.
Cannone, 25, played his first full professional season with the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators in 2011-12, finishing third in both goals (19) and points (43) while recording 32 penalty minutes and being one of two members of the B-Sens to play in all 76 games.
Cannone signed with the Senators organization in April 2011, after completing a four-year collegiate career with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Miami (Ohio) RedHawks. He then completed the 2010-11 season by joining Binghamton an amateur tryout, scoring one goal and adding an assist in two regular-season games.
The 5-11, 197-pound native of Bayport, N.Y., played his entire college career without missing a game, collecting 45 goals, 88 assists and 83 penalty minutes in 166 contests. He also recorded 30 or more points in each of his seasons.
