News Release: More than 16,000 tickets sold for Ottawa\u2019s home-opener on Monday, Jan. 21

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that more than 16,000 tickets have been sold for Ottawa’s home-opener against the Florida Panthers on Monday, Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Place. Tickets for the first 10 home games of the regular season are on sale now.

On Monday, the first day tickets were available to the public, more than 9,000 tickets were sold for the first 10 games of the regular season; nearly the same number of tickets that were sold during last season’s first day of tickets sales (which included access to all 41 home games).

Also for Monday’s game, Ferguslea Properties Limited, Accora Village, Sens fans Dan Greenberg and Barbara Crook along with the Sens Foundation have invited nearly 2,000 children, youth and their families to Scotiabank Place for a chance to experience the opening of the Senators home season. Tickets, bussing, parking, popcorn and drinks will be provided at no cost.

The children were selected from a cross-section of area groups and schools, including the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, Ecole Elementaire Catholique Sainte-Anne, York Street Public School, École secondaire publique De La Salle, the Capital City Condors and Roger’s House.

‘Game On’ presented by Scotiabank – Senators to open Scotiabank Place for fans to watch Saturday’s game in Winnipeg on the Bell HD Screen

The Senators will host ‘Game On’ presented by Scotiabank on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Scotiabank Place. The doors to the building will be open (free of charge), giving fans the opportunity to watch CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada high-definition broadcast of the 2012-13 season-opener against the Winnipeg Jets at 3 p.m. Doors to Scotiabank Place will open at 2:30 p.m.

The first 500 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a pair of tickets to a Senators home game, courtesy of Scotiabank. The tickets will be for the game against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, Jan. 29, or versus the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, Feb 5.

The Bell HD screen — with 2,170 square feet of viewing space — will be lowered to enhance sightlines for fans and to better the game experience. The Sens Store will be open on Saturday, and all merchandise will be 50%. There will be free activities for children, including balloon artists and face-painters, while some concessions stands will be open for refreshments.

Parking and admission to Scotiabank Place on Saturday is free, but fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item as a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank.

Tickets for the first 10 games of the regular season are on sale now

The first 10 home games of the regular season will feature a number of promotions to welcome fans back to Scotiabank Place. To kick-off the home schedule, parking will be free (in lots 5, 6 and 9), children 14 years of age and under will receive a free ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket, popcorn will be $1 and all merchandise at the Sens Store will be 50% off on opening night. Tickets for the final 14 home games of the regular season will go on sale Monday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m.
