Canadian Tire Jumpstart presents I Love to Skate Celebration Party – Sunday, Feb. 3

The Senators and Canadian Tire Jumpstart, in partnership with the Sens Foundation and the City of Ottawa, will host an end-of-year celebration for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart presents I Love To Skate program on Sunday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Scotiabank Place.

This will mark the conclusion of the third year of the I Love To Skate program. It provides financially disadvantaged children in neighbourhoods across Ottawa with the opportunity to receive a pair of skates and a helmet, in addition to skating lessons from qualified instructors at the city’s 27 outdoor rinks. Sunday’s finale will see each of the 400 participants and members of their immediate families enjoy the opportunity to skate on the same ice surface as the Senators. To highlight this season’s successes, the participants and their families will be joined by dignitaries from Canadian Tire Jumpstart, the Sens Foundation and City of Ottawa.

Spartacat Appearances

Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will participate in Saturday’s Timbits Jamboree at Scotiabank Place. He will also be on hand to skate with the children taking part in the I Love to Skate year-end celebration on Sunday, Feb. 3. Later that day, Sparty will join Re/Max (1 p.m. to 2 p.m.) and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (3 p.m. to 4 p.m.) during their corporate family skates at Scotiabank Place.
