OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Feb. 15, to Thursday, Feb. 21.

Senators Alumni to visit Eganville and District Minor Hockey Association – Friday, Feb. 15

NHL and Ottawa Senators Alumni will suit up to participate in a fun-filled charity hockey game against coaches from the Eganville and District Minor Hockey Association. Former NHL players Brad Marsh and Shean Donovan, along with other members of the Sens Alumni, are expected to take part in the festivities. The hockey game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at Eganville Arena (178 Jane St., Eganville). Tickets are $10 and are available at the arena, Foodland (8754 Ontario 60, Letts Corners) and the Township of Bonnechere Valley municipal office (49 Bonnechere Street East, Eganville).

Dodge Caravan Kids Family Hockey Day – Monday, Feb. 18

Chrysler’s Ontario Dealership Association, in partnership with the Ontario Minor Hockey Assocation and Alliance Hockey, will host the Dodge Caravan Kids Family Hockey Day on Monday, Feb. 18, from 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Bell Sensplex. Sixteen local novice house league teams will compete in a round robin tournament, skills competition and various off-ice activities including the Sens Street Tour inflatable games and a special appearance by Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, at 1 p.m. For more information on the event, please visit www.caravankids.ca.

Brad Fritsch to drop puck in ceremonial faceoff – Thursday, Feb. 21

Local golfer and 2013 PGA Tour member Brad Fritsch will conduct a ceremonial faceoff prior to the 7:30 p.m. game between the Senators and New York Rangers on Thursday, Feb. 21. Fritsch has played in five PGA tour events this year and has finished in the top 10 on one occasion. Fritsch and the Senators entered a promotional partnership this past summer with the aim of assisting him to reach his goal of earning a PGA tour card, which he accomplished in October. This season, Fritsch is sporting the Senators’ logo on both his shirt and golf bag.

Spartacat Appearances

Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, helped launch Kindness Week, a growing movement to celebrate kindness in Ottawa, earlier today at Accora Village. He will also join members of the Sens Alumni this evening at the Eganville Arena at 7:30 p.m. In partnership with Coca-Cola, Sparty will visit Brown’s Your Independent Grocer (1251 Main St., Stittsville) at Noon and Walmart (5357 Fernbank Rd., Stittsville) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. Sparty will take part in Funatorium Explorium’s Family Day Weekend mascot parade and dance party at Noon on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Ernst & Young Centre (4899 Uplands Dr.), followed by Re/Max’s corporate skate at 2:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Place. On Monday, Feb. 18, he will join Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson at the Rink of Dreams for the Mayor’s Family Day Skating Party at 11 a.m. before heading to the Bell Sensplex to visit local hockey players and their families taking part in the Dodge Caravan Kids Family Hockey Day tournament at 1 p.m.
