Sens president Leeder honoured
Given the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators President Cyril Leeder was honoured at City Hall in Ottawa on Thursday and presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
The distinction was created in 2012 to mark Queen Elizabeth II's 60th anniversary as Queen of Canada and the award, "serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians." Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Deputy Mayor Steve Desroches were on hand to present Mr. Leeder with the medal. He also spoke on Sport Tourism and the economic impact it has on communities.

Mayor Jim Watson and Deputy Mayor Steve Desroches were pleased to present Cyril Leeder, President of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Mr. Leeder is involved in a number of community initiatives and volunteer work. As the founder of the Bell Capital Cup and an active member of the Sens Foundation and Ottawa Community Ice Partnership, he works closely with the City of Ottawa to provide non-profit opportunities for youth and local charities.
